• EIT Establishes the Professors' Council and Holds the First General Assembly of Representatives

    On September 24, EIT officially established the Professors' Council and held its first General Assembly of Representatives. A total of 42 professors from the School of Science, the School of Engineering, and the School of Information attended the meeting. Zhang Dongxiao, the executive vice president and provost, and Zheng Chunmiao, the vice president, attended the meeting.

    Zhang Dongxiao emphasized in his speech that the Professors' Council is a crucial part of the university's governance structure. The establishment of the council marks a significant moment in the university's history. He expressed his hope that all members would contribute their collective wisdom and efforts to ensure the success of the council, thereby aiding the university's growth and development.

     

    The assembly reviewed the work report on the council's preparation, and approved the Charter of the Professors' Council of Eastern Institute of Technology, the Election Procedures for the Professors' Council of Eastern Institute of Technology, as well as the proposed lists of scrutineers and ballot counters.

    Following a secret ballot, nine members were elected to the first committee of the Professors' Council. The first committee meeting was then held, during which the president and vice presidents of the council were elected. Chair Professor He Lei from the School of Information was elected as president of the council, while Associate Professor Li Wu from the School of Science and Associate Professor Yang Yongchao from the School of Engineering were elected as vice presidents.
