• University of Waterloo and Leiden University Visit EIT

    The University of Waterloo in Canada and Leiden University in the Netherlands recently visited EIT successively, conducting in-depth exchanges on international exchange and cooperation programs.

    Professor Alfred Yu, Assistant Vice President of the University of Waterloo in Canada, visited EIT. Professor Zheng Chunmiao, Vice President in charge of international affairs, and Professor Tan Zhongchao, Deputy Academic Dean and Director of the Teaching Department, met with the guests.

     

    During the meeting, Vice President Zheng Chunmiao welcomed Professor Alfred Yu and detailed EIT's school management philosophy and progress. Professor Alfred Yu introduced the situation at the University of Waterloo, focusing on the school's innovative practices and outstanding achievements in related research fields. The two parties had an in-depth discussion on international exchange and cooperation topics such as undergraduate enrollment and exchange visits. After the meeting, Professor Alfred Yu visited EIT's Experimental Plot B and the permanent campus construction site. He affirmed the achievements made and his anticipation about EIT's future development and inter-school exchanges and cooperation.

    Professor Jasper Knoester, Vice President and Faculty of Science Dean, and Ms. Yun Tian in charge of international cooperation at Leiden University in the Netherlands visited EIT. Professor Xi Chuanwu, Deputy Academic Dean and Director of the External Cooperation Department, Professor Tan Zhongchao, Deputy Academic Dean and Director of the Teaching Department, Professor Wei Suhuai, Dean of the School of Physics, and Dr. Song Lan from the External Cooperation Department met with the guests.

     

    Professor Xi Chuanwu welcomed the representatives of Leiden University while Professor Tan Zhongchao introduced EIT's mission, characteristics, and development plan. Professor Jasper Knoester of Leiden University then introduced the school's current situation and teaching team, particularly the important achievements of the university in industry-university partnerships in pharmaceuticals, biodiversity, and other related fields. The two parties carried out in-depth exchanges on programs of collaborative PhD cultivation and dual-degree master and undergraduate exchanges among others.
